Bradley Powell
Bradley Powell is a clarinetist and a cultural advocate. He performs frequently with ensembles in Montréal, works on the team that creates scholarships for Schulich School of Music students, and volunteers with arts and social empowerment organizations.
Bradley joined the Saskatoon Symphony at the age of 21, and performed with them as the youngest member of any professional Canadian wind section. He has performed chamber music as a guest of Allegra Chamber Music, the Ritornello Chamber Music Festival, the Prairie Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the National Arts Centre's Young Composers' Ensemble, the National Music University of Bucharest, and many other organizations. He can be heard on l'Orchestre de la Francophonie's recordings of the nine Beethoven Symphonies, released on Analekta.
As an arts administrator, Bradley has worked with artists and organizations including Alan Gilbert, Sesame Street, Robert Spano, Herbert Blomstedt, Ensemble ACJW, and Christoph von Dohnányi. He was elected in 2010 as the youngest Delegate to the Organization of Canadian Symphony Musicians, and is an alumnus of The Juilliard School's Professional Internship Program.
Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Bradley is currently in the Artist Diploma program at the Schulich School of Music.
